"My name is Wayne Phelps and I am a professional magician and we are here with Expert Village.com. We are going to learn how to do a slip force. Alright guys when you are doing magic sometimes you just have to know what card the spectator is going to select before they select it. When you do this, this is known as a card force. There is a lot of different ways you can force a card, and one of my favorite ways is using a slip force method. This is how it works. Start by knowing the top card. In this case it is 2 of hearts, okay. You are going to hold the cards so the end is facing up and you are going to brace the cards face with your first finger, your other three fingers are going to hold pressure against the back of the cards. You’ve got to riffle through with your thumb and have the spectator say stop. You are going to try to time the stop so you are in the middle of the deck when they say it. When they stop you, reach in grab the pack of cards and lift straight up. Pressure will cause that top card to slip off and go flush against the remaining packet. You hand it to the spectator and say go ahead take the top card and memorize it, put it back in the deck and now you can shuffle, you can do whatever you want and you are ready to move on to your next trick. I am going to do up to speed for you to see what it looks like in the real time. Here we go. Stop, grab, memorize, back to the deck, close, shuffle and now I am ready for my card trick. That is a slip force. "
