"So if your flute sounds anything like that, I know you will be pleased. I hope it does. In the following series I'm going to be going through all the different styles of flutes that I've come up with and that will help you decide what kind of flute, what shape, what size flute you would like to make. on 8/2/2008 I am not only new here, but very new to flute making, and even newer at playing the instrument. after viewing all of the clips here, I believe that a 7th and possibly 8th (top rear) hole could be made and tuned so that you in fact create an 8-holoe chanter. I am not bad at woodworking so will invest in a round chisel and maybe some good dry pine to get started.
Thanks for a great series.
