"If you ever wanted to make such an instrument, what you would need is some wood and I use soft woods because soft woods are easier to work. You need a little of leather and you need some of the information that I'm going to be showing here in the next few clips. The flutes can be lots of different sizes. The medium size flute is usually in the key of G or F-sharp and this flute is an F-sharp. These flutes are very flexible and you can make them in smaller dimension in which case the pitch is higher. You can also make them very, very big and of course the pitch goes way down something like a bass recorder. In the next sequence after this I'm going to be playing a lot of the different flutes so you can decide what size flute and what character flute that you like to make. "
