"So as you've decided what size and type of flute to make. I've shown you small flutes, large flutes, high flutes and low flutes. Most people of course, will start with the middle size flute, and most people will start with a flute with a cylindrical bore where it's round all the way through. Same size from top to bottom. That is a great place to start. All of these flutes as you can see with all of their variety all sound good in different ways. If the holes are small, you'll get a little bit smaller sound and it'll still sound great. If the holes are big, you’ll get a bigger sound, it'll be a little richer, it'll have a little more overtones to do it and it'll still sound great. So that you can pick and choose between all these dimensions of the flutes. 90% of the sound of the flute still happens in the wind way. The wind way is about the same on all of the flutes, from small to large. If you can be the most careful in the area of the wind way. Make sure that there are no protrusions on the inside of the bore. Everything is smooth as possible. You'll get a great sounding flute the first time, hopefully. Then you can play you flute forever and maybe upgrade to one mine as time goes on. "
