"My name is Yvette Parrish. When you’re doing the flats all I do is I lift up my foot and I’m kind of stepping in front of me. Okay and I’m going to add flats to that so it’s, okay. With your skirt is down this is how it looks… A good way also to practice some footwork is this way, I put my right foot forward, my left foot is behind me. So with your left foot you do two flats, front foot flat, 1 2, 1, 1 2, 1. You can take your right foot, slide it behind, point your left, slide it behind, right foot slide it behind, point left foot, slide it behind, point, slide, you can point and flat, you can point bring it around and flat. So once you have the basic footwork you have the flats, side to side, the toes, remember toes are just tippy toes, heels, you have toe, heel."
