"Here I'll discuss palm muting. Now what that refers to is the palm on the right hand, the picking hand. This technique would usually be used when you have a pick. Now once again, the pick for a Ukulele is usually made of felt, slightly larger than a guitar pick but the same shape. Now I don't have one, you might not have one either so you could use a guitar pick it'll just have a slightly more abrasive sound. Now palm muting, you're going to take the side of your hand, the side of your palm, and move it just over the bridge onto the strings. So if you play without palm muting, it's a very loud chord. If you slightly move your palm onto the strings, you get a more chugging sound, a little bit tighter sound that's muting the string slightly. You could move your hand back and forth, off the bridge and onto the strings to determine how much of that muting sound you want."
