Ever wonder why grand pianos have such a brilliant shine? It's all because of Windex! That's right, just glass cleaner. The finish on a piano would be ruined if a product like furniture polish was used. Ever since I found out this little secret I have used it whenever I polish my guitars (2 electrics, 1 steel string acoustic-electric, and one nylon string classical acoustic). One way of getting past all the strings and knobs when you polish the guitar, when changing strings remove everything else and you can get a smooth polish.

Hi, my name is Tim Ambrosius. I'm a professional guitar technician. And, I'm going to show you how to just polish up your guitar. All you need is just regular guitar polish you can get from any guitar shop and a really soft like polish rag. Usually, I'll just polish the back first. You don't really need all that much polish. You just need a couple of squirts. What you want to do, is just take your rag and wipe it off. Then, flip over your rag to a dry spot and sort of rub it in. Do the back. Sort of want to get around the horns, you don't really need to, I mean, I guess if you want to you can polish the top and the sides. It's kind of tough sometimes. Then, on the top, same thing. Just a couple of squirts. It's a little trickier on the top getting around all the electronics, but the easy way to do it is just to wipe it through there. You're not going to be polishing it right away. Just make sure it gets in there. And, then when you flip over your rag, then you can sort of rub it down. One easy way, is just to take your rag and go like that and get around it. Then for the end, shove your rag through. It's kind of hard to get polish through there, but... Then, behind the bridge. There you go.
