I'm Melanie LaPatin and I'm Tony Meredith and we're co-owners of Dance Times Square Studios in NYC, we're here to show you how to rumba. You know Melanie keeps iterating on how it's important leading is and the man has a very important task of being responsible for the direction of which the girl is taken. As well as the music and the timing which is very keyed and essential to anybody that's going to be a dancer. One of the things I do to assist me in learning is how to maintain my frame is for example, I take my hands together and I push them as far as I can. And what it does it engages my back of my muscles I can use those as a tone of a percentage of how much degree of what I want to do, as well as it allows me to press my shoulders down. It gives a very firm term tone and from there I take my hands I push them together relaxing my fingers because I want to take the tension out of my forearms and my wrist, I actually put into my frame. This allows me to take hold of the woman in time and guide her where ever I need to.
