"(Playing piano)Okay so those are some different types of scales using the 7 notes so once you understand the concept of the 7 notes and then you can expand that and just change the scale tones just by altering one tone or another. Let's alter the 1 so we are just playing 1, a soft 1 which is a raise the next note, the lower 3. Alright. So learning the 7 notes of the scale now that doesn't mean you have to learn all of the scales unless you are really going to be really serious about it. However each one of them do get you a different tone color so the thing is to experiment with the 7 notes and the finding of the notes and the colors that you like."
