on 1/13/2009 I really like this dude. His video's show and explain the most important information for beginners. These video's are easily the most useful for me than any of the other learn piano offering around the www. I think it is very very important to understand how exactly to use and move the hands and fingers on the keyboard as well as posture. Without this information beginners will only start off using incorrect technique and this will become burned in and difficult to unlearn when they are shown correct technique.

I especially find useful the tips provided for strengthening and controlling fingers. As a beginner many experts must forget how extremely difficult it is for a beginner when they have absolutely no control in their fingers. In particular fingers 3-5 are very weak, have zero ability to operate individually and flap high in the air instead of resting on the keys when using another finger or they all press keys at the same time. After days of practice i still can not strike a key at higher volumes without the pinky touching striking a note and the middle and ring fingers raising into the air off the board.

Thanks for your valuable tutorials Tony u tha man.... respect !!!

"I'm Tony Newton from Expert Village and we are going to talk about finger execution and technique on the piano. Okay our first thing is to always have the fingers curled now I recommend just like if you put your hand down on the middle C and just the best thing to do is take your hand like this and let them form the natural curve and then you take that to the piano like this and you let your fingers or if you start on middle C the thumb goes on middle C the first finger on the next key. We would take the next 5 keys so this is the natural position before the precision of the right hand. Now we would do the same thing with the left hand just take it and start it with the baby finger on middle C and make it round and as you can see all of these fingers are rounded and then when you want to make a excursion like let's take one. Each finger has it's own science and art use that is the most difficult thing to playing the piano is that each finger has it's own range of motion and dynamic to it. So let's do this as let me show it to you on the left hand this is the motion of the thumb that is the left hand. Right hand. "
