"Alright, let's talk about the elements in a dramatic interp piece. What is it that we're going to have to work with? Well first of all, time is about 8 to 10 minutes, so we're going to have about 8 to 10 minutes worth of material -material that is dramatic. Dramatic in the sense of serious, okay? So the characters, you need at least 2, maybe more characters that you're going to create and work with in your dramatic interpretation piece. There needs to be basically a beginning a middle and an end, pretty much. But what you have to have in a dramatic piece is a conflict. Not necessarily a resolution. What a conflict is is something happens. We are driving towards an event, usually a bad event or an event that makes everything kind of explode or blow up. That may be the end of your dramatic interp piece. There may not be a resolution to it, but everything we're looking for is serious and dramatic in nature. Now let's talk about where to find this material."
