"STEVE ANTHONY: On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Steve Anthony. I'm here in New York City. Today, I'm going to talk a little bit about some beginning guitar picking techniques. There's a thing called a harmonic on the guitar which is just simply the sound that's made when you touch a certain fret, touch a certain string on a certain fret at just very light pressure. This harmonics happen actually at the fifth, seventh, ninth and 12th strings. And certain songs have used that with their picking styles. You can add those into your chords or you can use them individually. As you improvise and find your way around, you'll work those into songs all over the place. Neil Young did it all the time. So just barely touch the string and pluck it."
