"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Steve Anthony here in New York City, today we're going to talk a little bit about Country Bass Fiddle techniques for beginners. Now we talked about variations on the simple basic one, four, five. One of the things that you can do, if you're playing in a band that doesn't have a drummer, you may be called upon to provide some percussive action as well. (Audio demo) Now, what I just did there is very simple, basic slap technique. It's really nothing more than you're sort of slapping the strings with your right hand and muting them with the left on the ?and? of the beat. So, it's one and two. One and two. One and two. And that helps to give a little bit of drive to the music if you don't happen to have a drummer. Again, some band leaders may say keep it simple, don't do that. But, it may come in handy if you're in a band that doesn't have a drummer. (Audio demo)"
