"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Steve Anthony here in New York City, today we're going to talk a little bit about Country Bass Fiddle techniques for beginners. As far as the tuning of the Up-right Bass, it's the exact same tuning of an electric Bass or Bass guitar, which also corresponds to the four heaviest strings on a guitar which is E, A, D, and G. Which, of course, are tuned in fifths to one another. We find that in this position, the E string sounds an A, and the A string sounds a D, and the D string sounds a G. Then you can use harmonics in these positions to check your tuning. Any variation to tuning, you can use either a tuning fork to create your A then use the A as a reference point or you can use a chromatic tuner. Doesn't really matter. Or, just tune to the instruments that you're playing with."
