"Welcome to Expert Village. I'm Steve Blank, Audio and Video engineer for MindFood Productions, here to show you how we can record with electric drums. The first thing we'll do is record a click track and in order to do that I'll first have to determine the tempo of the song. The right pedal is a bass drum sound and the left pedal I have assigned to a snare drum sound in this song. This allows me to change the setting on the center drum and I made it a melodic tom like the other four so there's five melodic toms. One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one. Seventy six beats per minute. Now that we have the tempo set we can go into the recording software and set up a track to record a click track. The electronic drums give us a couple of options for what we want to listen to as far as the click track goes. You hear the voice counting. But I think I'm going to need maybe eighth notes or even sixteenth notes to do this click track just right. Three, four, one, two, three, four, one and two and three and four and one and two and three and four and one teen tom two teen tom three teen tom four and a one ee and a two ee and a three ee and a four ee and a one ee and a two ee and a three ee and a four."
