"What I like to show you next is a step called a flap now that's one word one syllable spelled flap but often times in dance we we pronounce "flap" like 2 syllables because it makes 2 sounds. Let me show you how it's done, a flap is a brush that we learned before followed by a step which we learned before and you put weight on the foot that you did the flap on. So again it's a brush then step so lets do that rotating right foot to left foot, brush, step, brush, step, that's a flap so let's try that one more time. I'll show you from the side that's a brush, step, brush, step if you have time and enough floor space another good thing to do is start at one corner of a room making sure that there's no furniture in the way and traveling to the opposite side of the room just doing that over and over again, brush, step, brush, step like this."
