What we’re going to do is we’re going to teach you the basic of the hula dance. Nani is going to talk to you a little bit about the dress that she has on because that’s the costumes we use for the hula. Go ahead…when we’re starting hula in the beginning we go to halau which is a hula school and this is where you learn to do the hula, so one of the things when the first costumes or apparel that you get when you’re going to dance is called a pa’u skirt, it’s a very full gathered skirt, it’s very ancient this is one of the things that they use also with ti leaf skirts and we have the little bands around the arms and this is called a hai, it also goes with the lei and this around your head."
