"I'm Teddy Kern at Dance Manhattan in New York City and this is Heather Gehring and Lou Brock and we've been teaching Foxtrot. Another really fun step in Foxtrot is called Promenade. Promenade just means to take a walk, so in taking a walk in Foxtrot we can do exactly the same rhythm, exactly the same step structure but we travel in a different direction. Instead of Lou traveling forward and Heather traveling directly backward, that would be the normal direction of Foxtrot, they're going to open this position, which is called ballroom dance position by the way, they're going to travel in the same direction. Forward, cross in the middle and face your partner. Now let's reverse that and remember that's called, slow, slow, quick, quick. I'll call it out. This is slow, this is slow, and face your partner, quick, quick. Remember, exactly the same rhythm as the basic step traveling forward, backward, you just simply open on one side and change the step slightly."
