I'm Teddy Kern at Dance Manhattan in New York City and this is Heather Gehring and Lou Brockman and we will be teaching foxtrot. Social American foxtrot is a very popular dance in this country. It has been popular since the 1940s when swing music really became popularize all across America and it is truly one of the America of all dances. It is also a very popular dance for people to dance at there wedding. So a lot of new brides and grooms come to learn to foxtrot to dance to a sentimental song Frank Sinatra ballets are always popular and most of those songs are written in a time signature called 4-4. That means 4 beats of music to a measure counting 1,2,3,4, it has a little swingy feeling. It also can be very beautiful and long and graceful and that is the other part of foxtrot it is also beautiful to dance at a wedding.
