"Hi! My name is Teri Lynne and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. And in this segment we are going to show you how to use different objects with mime. So this way this just makes your environment a little more believable when you?re doing a mime sketch. You want to start to use objects. Let?s start with maybe a yo-yo. So you really want to picture all the aspects of doing yo-yo. You don't want to skip right to throwing the yo-yo down. So it starts with that little loop that you put on your finger. You have the yo-yo in your hand. You really want to cup it. Then you want to throw it down and release and you catch it. Goes down, catch it. Really picture the yo-yo in your hand. If you can quite figure it out, go take a yo-yo or the object you want to use and use it a few times and watch yourself in the mirror. That way you'll get a clear idea of what it looks like. Now a ball is very similar to a yo-yo. Just a little different. So you want to take a ball, want to take actually, what size ball? I'm going to choose a smaller ball. A little bouncy ball. And we're just going to. You really want to show if it?s bouncy. You want to show that spring in the ball. You can show dribbling. You might want to show it a little faster. And again you really want to click down with the dribble. The last object we'll use is a drinking glass. So you might want to have to go the cupboard. Open it up. Reach in and grab your glass. Know what shape or size it is. This is a rounded glass. Go to your sink, turn on the faucet, fill it with a little bit of water. Just be very specific. Then you have a glass and you want to go into another scene, make sure you put the glass down somewhere. On a counter top or something. If you pick it up later, remember where the object was. It?s very important in mind to be extremely specific with objects and details. That is how you show a few objects use of objects with mime."
