"THE FERRET: All right, now we've got everything strung up and ready to go, we're going to check the pick-up height, and set the pick-up height with a Phillips's screw driver. You've got two screws on the sides of the pickups here, and what we want to do, is we want to press down on the end of the neck, which would be the last fret there. We want to check the distance between the string and the pole pieces. And we don't want to them too close, or too far away, but we definitely don't want the strings to touch the pickups. Once we've got that set, then we can set the other pickups in relation to that pick-up to get the volume balance. Now we're going to check the string to string balance to make sure that the high string isn't much louder than the low string. We want a very even sound, so we can hear all the notes. That's a nice balance."
