"THE FERRET: We've tilted the neck to compensate. It gives us some more room to adjust. We're just going to do a quick play check to make sure everything plays okay and then we're going to move on to intonation. Sounds good! Okay. Now that the guitar is playing okay, we need to set the intonation so that it plays in tune all the way up the neck. The way that we do that is by moving the saddles either towards the neck or away from the neck. And what we want to get is the same reading on the tuner on the open string as we do when we fret the 12th fret. Like this. So I'm going to turn my tuner on, and I'm going to check that open note until it's in tune, and then I'm going to check the 12th fret. Okay. The tuner is telling me it is slightly sharp so what we need to do is take this Phillips head screwdriver and we need to pull the saddle away from the neck because if it is sharp, that means that there's not enough string length so we need to create more string length. We're going to detune the string a little bit; and then we're going to put the saddle just a little further back by turning the screw clockwise; then we're going to tune the string back up and check it again. Now the string is in tune and we can move on to the next string."
