"THE FERRET: Okay, now we've got all the strings coming through the terminal block and we're ready to string it up. You want to make sure all the slack is pulled through and pull the string tight and give yourself about 1, 2, about 2-1/2 string post past where you're going to actually string it up and cut the remainder of the string off like that with some good wire cutters. Now, I want to show you how the strings go through the tuning machines. You just slide it through the hole here and you want to put your hand under the string like that. Maybe give about two sometimes three fingers. I'm going to go two on this and then I'm going to give the string tune, tuning machine a couple of turns into where its just about to start coming around, then I'm going to bend this part of the string through. I'm going to take it and wrap it around underneath the string, and I'm going to use some pliers here, some needle nose pliers, so then pull it up back around like that. Once that is done, I can then continue turning the tuning machine making the windings going down towards the headstock, and what that little wrap around does is kinda locks it in place so once it's tuned up the pitch, the string is going to stay in tune a lot better and this is not going to slip out of the slack there, and then I can cut remainder of that that I don't need off right there and it makes very nice neat string job. It's going to stay tight around the tuning thing peg and stay in tune and I'm going to repeat those steps on all the strings."
