How to Clean a Fender Stratocaster Guitar

"RYAN LARSON: Okay, so now that we've got the strings off we're going to clean the guitar, the fret board. I've got a fret board cleaner and lubricants, as well as a guitar polish. First thing you do is you spray the cleaner on the fret board, and you want to work that in either with your fingers or with a cloth and then you can remove all the dirt and grime from the fret board. It might be a good idea to have a toothbrush because sometimes you get a little dirt into the ends of the frets, and underneath the frets, and you can work that out, just by using a toothbrush, and then after you've got it all cleaned up, you just wipe everything off with the polish cloth, as far as cleaning the guitar body, and everything else, you just use regular polish. Spray it right on the cloth, it's little moist, then you just go over everything. Most polishes nowadays are safe use on metals, plastics, and everything on the guitar and you can just polish it right up, get all the dust and dirt and grime right off of there and keep your guitar looking new. Another good reason to keep your guitar cleaned up is it keeps the parts moving like they are supposed to move, it helps keep your guitar in tune. It keeps your electronic parts working like they're supposed to, and not getting dirty and making noise, and it's going to protect your finish and keep it looking good. Get the back of the neck so your fingers don't gets stuck on there while you're trying to play, and just work it all over the guitar and get all that stuff off of there and the bridge plate sometimes gets pretty grimy, get all that off of there, top of your pick ups, and it's looking ready like it's ready to restring."
