"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village. And today we're going to learn the basics in Rock drumming. I like to call it Rock drumming 101 the basics. So far we've dealt with the Kick drum on one and three and the Snare drum on two and four. You remember that's not the only two things we use to play the basic drum beat. We also use the High Hat. So let's move in and let's work on the High Hat. This is our right hand now. O.k.? So take your right hand, put it on the High Hat and let's count out loud. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Just on the High Hat plays with every beat. All four beats. Remember the Kick drum's on one and three. The Snare drum's on two and four. But the high Hat keeps going on all four beats. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Just keep practicing. Keep going over and over. You can never practice too much. You know, a lot of it is muscle memory. Just, you know, keep doing the same thing over and over. Over and over again. So keep practicing, keep counting. Playing one, two, three, four on the High Hat. Now let's take it to the next step and let's see what else we got. "
