"Hi, I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to learn the basics in rock drumming. I like to call it "Rock Drumming 101 - The Basics". So now that we know how to count and we're continuing on doing that, and we know how to play the snare drum on two and four, which is fun. Making some noise, umm let's get the kick drum into this and before we start kicking the kick drum, let's go back to snapping. Okay? Now the kick drum typically, in a basic rock beat, plays on beats one and three. Snare drum on two and four, kick drum on one and three. So, let's practice counting and let's snap with our right hand, because we play the kick drum with our right foot and we'll snap on beats one and three. Okay? So let?s get our counting going. Remember, let's get into it. One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four. Too fast? Let's slow it down. One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four. Remember there is no right way to go too fast or too, it's not wrong to be slower or to be faster. As long as you're doing it correctly. If you can deal with it faster, and you're playing it right, or doing it right, that's fine. But, like I said, slow and perfect is better that fast and sloppy. So let's move on to the next step, let's see where we're going with that."
