"Hi I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village. And today we're going to be learning how to play a basic Jazz drum beat. So now the next step in learning how to play basic Jazz beat is, we're going to play the pattern on the Ride. But now we're going to swing it. Now this is important too. Almost as important as the Hi Hat. Because this is what gives Jazz, this what Jazz is. It's swaying. It's swaying music. How many songs are named because of the swaying in Jazz music. So, what we're going to do is, we're going to go ahead and we're going to play the pattern on the Ride. O.k.? Remember the one, two, and, three, four. And one. Well, now on the end of two and the end of four. O.k.? One, two and. And four and, we're going to slow them down or put them closer if you will to the beat three and beat one. So it's one, two, A, three. O.k.? Now you notice I'm not saying and three. I'm saying A. O.k.? So, one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. A, one. See A, one, two and three, four. And one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. And actually a way to practice this if you have your drum set with you, maybe in the car. You can kind of sing it Da...da...tara..da..ara..da....One, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. A, one, two, A, three, four. So just keep singing that and it's going to get embedded. And that's going to help you to play the pattern on the Ride. So, now that we've done that and we're going to keep practicing that. Let's take a look at what our next step is in playing a basic Jazz drum beat."
