"This next scale is called the harmonic minor scale. And this is more primarily used in a darker sounding setting, especially in the more emotional trappings of classical music, but also a lot of neoclassical guitar players like Yngwie Malmsteen made this scale very famous for rock guitar players. Basically, I'm going to show the basic shape of a harmonic minor and what is 5, 7, 8, 5, 7, 8. And then on the D strings, 6 - that note there is what gives it the harmonic flavor there - 7, 9, 5, 7, 9. On the B, 6, 8, 9 and then end on A. So when you play through it again, always apply the picking technique to it. And then backwards. Come back to A. And that's the A harmonic minor scale."
