"Another common tap technique and actually it's not tapping as much as it is a just utilizing both hands on the fret boards, it's called making chimes. And what you're doing on this, similar to tap harmonics, where you're picking or rather tapping the octave you're actually using technique where you use your thumb and index finger. And you pick the note like that, and again you're using on the octave twelve frets apart, so like say I'm making an A Minor chord which is third finger seventh fret D string and then baring your first finger on the G, B and E strings on the fifth fret. So what I would do is go to the octave and what I'm doing here is picking, again, right above the fret just like as if you tapped it except it's a little more cleaner. What I do is I make about a four finger fret width on the upper part here, so basically like I'm picking from the, say this is the twenty first fret to the seventeenth. Then it has almost sounds like a chime hence why it's called chimes."
