"Warm up exercises are crucial with any musician, guitar player or bass player, whatever. In this example, I'm going to show you the four finger, four fret exercise. Basically, we're going to begin with four fingers on the first four frets. So, what we're going to do here is, simply start with the first finger and go the down stroke, second fret up stroke, third fret down stroke and fourth fret up stroke. And you'll do this on each successive string, ascending, or going up and then when we're coming back down, we're gong to go up, down, up, down, descending, or going back down. Basically, I'm going to show you how to play this, real quick. And that is the four finger, four fret exercise."
