"This is another example of using Drop D tuning, a melodically with the chord. And this time, I'm going to do the D Major chord, but like this, where I'm doing, fifth fret on the A string, and using my fourth finger, third finger on the D string, fourth fret, second finger on the G which makes A. So creating that, and what I'm going to be doing is keeping the low D and working my way up and I'll show you with this with the drums. What I did there, was did what they call alternate bass line; basically I'm playing bass notes while I'm picking the melody on the D Major shape here. I've kind of played it actually in a more arpeggiated fashion. And then coming up here, for E and then F#. Oops, sorry about that, but guess I played it better fast than I did slow. But anyways, the point being, playing the nice melody is something you wouldn't normally be able to do in standard tuning."
