"In this example I'm going to do another like, kind of heavy rock riff in A and some more reminiscent of the eighties type rock, but as I mentioned before there has been kind of a resurgence of the influence in today?s rock and what I'm going to do here is a riff in A and so with the drums it will sound like this. What I did there was just simply did an A 5. Yeah, just going one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four it's an eighth note so. And you know what that gives us is kind of a nice solid foundation you know riding the A and, often times the bass player would simply just be riding an A. It's good to set up for either like a solo section, you know where the guitar player can rip or either that or just a nice ballsy sounding rock sound for a verse."
