"Okay in this example I'm going to move away from the bluesier type rock of movement to what was more prevalent in the 80's where it used a lot of muting and grooves. And it kind of took the place of classic blues rock in the form of say like early Metallica and Mega Death and some other bands and the kind of stuff I grew up on 15, 20 years ago. And essentially what it is is kind of using like lots of 5th chords and it was kind of the precursor to the drop D generation in the 90's and this decade. So with the drums I'll give you an example of that in E minor. And so basically what the emphasis is on there is the muting technique and it kind of like took the place because the blues would be. And in this one it kind of went to a minor tonality. Of course E being the most common key used. And that one I'm simply just going from F sharp 5, G 5 to A 5 and back and forth and adding a nice little chunk groove to it."
