"In this Blues riff in E I'm going to play up here on the seventh and ninth fret and again a very commonly used a, riff used a over the decades by different rock bands who adopted it from the Blues of the thirties and the forties and so forth. And a with the drums it sounds like this. And what I did there was a just played the E5 but up here on the seventh on the A string and the ninth fret on the D and sometimes occasionally added the open E and then on the D string just going back and forth on the eleventh and twelfth frets on the D string going, and so you know, when you listen to especially like the classic rock of the seventies it was very common. You know, bands like Aerosmith a Joe Walsh a any number, a Bad Company any number of bands did that and it created a nice Bluesy rock sound with a nice rock distorted tone."
