"In this example, what I am going to show is again is using B minor 7, A minor 7 progression. And instead of strumming, I am just going to do a nice picked melody and throwing in an alternating note, hammered on. Which in this case will be a B string. Okay, and with the drums it will sound just like this. (Music Playing) Okay, what I did there was with using the minor 7 cord, it kind of adds a nice little jazz flavor to it almost, that you can use in rock and its been used countless amounts of times. And what I was doing there with the drum track was going (Music Playing). That was my picking pattern. So simply going (Music Playing), playing, start with my bottom two notes and then the top two. And then picking another note and the hammering on. And the hammering on adds a nice effect because it kind of gives it a nice cascading sound to it rather than going (Music playing). You got (Music Playing). And the trick to giving it that nice sound was hammering on and holding that note as you are picking through the rest of the cords. So again, simple little techniques like that and you can have a much nice, better sounding progression."
