"In this example, what I'm going to do is a B minor strum. I'm going to be doing a B minor, A and F sharp minor. What I'm going to do is add a more percussive feel, to give you an idea of how to take a simple three chord progression and give it a little spice. With the background music it will sound like this. Okay, what I did there was pretty much B minor (and what I went was). I did a rest, but you can call it a scrape. There are different terms for it. I went down up, down with a scrape. Then I did the same thing with the A chord. With the F sharp minor I basically ended the progression with that to give it a nice minor tonality at the end of the progression. The strum there again was just simply using a down up. That technique where you actually take your fingers off the fret board and just give it a nice scrape sound it gives it a nice percussive feel."
