"In this first segment, what we are going to discuss, is the parts of your guitar. The first part of it being the tuning pegs. Essentially what it is is the strings are tied around the tuning peg, and the purpose of the tuning pegs are to tune the guitar. And, basically you do this by simply turning them forward or back, whether you want them sharp or flat. Sharp meaning higher in pitch and flat, meaning lower in pitch. Of course, this being a six string guitar, you have six different tuning pegs representing each string in the guitar. And then this little piece sticking out here is called the truss rod. And what it is used for is to adjust the neck, because sometimes necks, being that it is simply a piece of wood, will bow or dip and you can simple adjust it by using an Allan wrench to straighten the length of the guitar thus increasing the tuning stability. This next part here is called the nut, and essentially all it is, the strings are held into place so that when they are tied into the tuning peg, they can simply stay in place and thus keep the guitar in tune."
