"What I'm going to show you is a lick that can be used to sound really fast and kind of intense using hammer-ons and pull offs, and instead of picking every note, you'll be picking basically the first note of each string. In this case, I'm going to use an E Minor, and just kind of work my way up the fret board. And what I'm going to do is start slow and show the notes here. So that's, F Sharp, G, A, B, C, D, 2, 3, 5, 2, 3, 5 as far as frets, and then 3, 5, 7, 3, 5, 7, which is G, A, and B, C, D, and E. Then 5, 7, 8 to BC, 5, 7, 8, D, E, F, then 7, 8, 10, 7, 8, 10, and that's B, C, D, E, F, G. And instead of picking each note, what I'm going to do is just simply hammer on. And you get a nice sound as opposed to just picking every note. It's a little easier to do, too, once you work your fingers up to speed."
