Sarah is very correct -- if you haven't ever taught flute (or have it happen to you), you might not know that beginner flute players may sometimes be blowing too hard to create a sound on the flute. Why don't you try it? Without a flute, just blow a strong stream of air really hard and keep doing it for an hour and see if you don't feel light-headed?

What a mean bunch of comments - interestingly, there are many excellent traditional folk simple-system flute players who taught themselves because they loved to produce music and weren't hung up on (or put off by) the myriad of "experts" out there. I say good on you Sarah - if it encourages anyone to take up this beautiful instrument in these days of fast food and video games then that's good enough for me! Anyone who gets hooked will develop their own style over time and will come into contact with other players with slightly different approaches - natural curiosity will lead to experimentation - really, chill out everyone!!

Seriously. ya, I didn't like the way she demonstrated the C scale, but that doesn't mean im going to immediately judge her as a person and start righting hateful comments about her. You're probably just jealous because you aren't as good a flutist as her.
