"We are going to show you how to dance Jive. Now we will show you how to dance the basic step with partner. So first, the man's left hand holds the lady's right hand and the man's right hand is on the back of the woman. So this is the hold you should achieve and then you can start the basic step which you have learned. 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6, 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6, 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6. What you need to keep in mind is that the first step is backwards for both of you. So this hold has to be at least a little bit plastic, so don't hold it very stiff, just rock, make it a little lighter like this. Okay you can practice the rock, rock step like that and then you can go to the chasse. 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6, 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6. Sometimes the figures will finish in an open position which is this, when the man holds the lady's right hand with his left and from this position we will have to get back to a close hold. We can use the basic step to get back to a close hold and it looks like this, 1-2-3 and 4-5 and 6. We'll do the chasses, we are getting closer to each other. So the chasse is not exactly to the side, but it's going forward a little bit, both chasses and this way we can achieve the close hold."
