"SCOTT DUPONT: Welcome back, Scott DuPont here on behalf of Expert Village. This little segment we're going to talk about acting schools and acting classes. Very, very important and one of the first ways to get started in the acting business. I'm a full time working actor and I actually teach kids acting in a local acting school once in a while. I'm so busy. I cant teach full time but I sub at this school and what I found when I'm dealing with kids whether it's the younger kids, four to eight, eight to twelve or sometimes teenagers, is the biggest thing is this acting classes will let the kid become more comfortable in front of a camera and really learn to get animated and get excited and get fun because that's what they look at in for commercials. A lot of the kids, they've get kind of -- you've got to bring them out of their shell. So, anyway, acting classes are very important. A couple of tips when you're looking for a local acting class or acting school, I kinda touched on this before, but check out several of them if they're near or compare prices as well as the reputation. And if they wont let you audit the class, go in and talk to the school director or talk to one or two of the instructors that's actually teaching the classes and get a sample curriculum and make sure that they've been around the while and that you think the stuff that they're going to be teaching is worthwhile to bring your kid out of his or her shell and also prepare them so that they can get acting jobs that will lead to other acting jobs. Get more experience and eventually pay a little bit of money. And if you get really, really lucky, I don't want to say this is - will happen for everyone because it's the rarity but once in a while, it's really nice to hear one of my students or some kid I'm working with book a Screen Actors' Guild national commercial that paid $30,000 and all of a sudden, they got their college education paid for. Kind of a rarity but that's kind of a nice perk that can happen as well. So, anyway, that's just a scratch in the surface on acting schools and that sort of thing. On behalf of Expert Village, thank you very much."
