"SCOTT DUPONT: Hi, Scott duPont, Film Producing 101 on behalf of Expert Village. If you produced your first feature film already, give yourself a pat on the back. Congratulations. You probably have it 'cause you're still watching this. But the question often comes up and I'm going to leave you with this thought. When is the best time to start raising money for your second or your next feature film? It's not a good idea to be raising money while you're in production or post-production 'cause you really gotta focus on that project all the way through distribution 'cause you gotta get some sort of money back to investors and get that on the track so to speak to making money. But the best time to start raising money for your next feature film is right after you've made some sort of deal on your first feature film. You don't want to wait, sit around on your laurels and wait six months, a year, two years because there's a lot of excitement generated at the time when you sold your last movie or your first movie in this case. So take advantage of that. Invite potential owners or potential investors to one of your final screenings. Let them see the project you've just produced, let them meet some of the cast and crew members, let them talk to some of the other investors that are really, really excited after that other project you just did got completed and possibly got a sale. So that's the main gist here. Don't wait too long. And a lot of the best producers in film making history, they boom, boom, boom, boom. They just keep going and going and going. They don't take several years off. So--and once you've produced your first film and it goes well, you're going to be hooked, you're going to just keep producing and it's such a great experience. I wish you all the best and I hope not only you produce your first feature film successfully but many, many more features to come. On behalf of Expert Village, thanks for tuning in and stay safe."
