" Welcome back to the advance dumbek techniques some of the tricks. Well this is one of my favorites because it is extremely expressive. It allows you to sing with your dumbek. It works better on some dumbeks some others. It works great these guys right here the ceramic works great it is called bending the pitch. So I'm playing that what happens if I stick my hand all the way in there. I'm changing the pitch. Now I'm putting my hand in like this make a stopper out of it and moving it in and out. I'm actually coming down that is were my knuckles are at this part right here. You have to play around with this to experiment a little with your particular drum because you have to know where your knuckles go. You would find out that there is a way to do a mute like this and a plug like this. If I get all the way in my hand is now and my wrist is here and my hand is up in here. I'm just going to plug this hole. You see how I get a dull thug. That is doing this with my wrist in here it is a plug. Now I'm going to do a mute like this that allows me to move my mute in and out of that drum. I just made a song. I just sang a song with this drum. It is amazing what you could do with that muting technique. "
