"I'm Scott Swearingen in rythmpig.com. Now lets show you the most commonly played, the easiest learned middle eastern rhythm all belly dancers learn this more or less is the first rhythm that they dance to and it is called Baladi and it goes like this. You have actually heard this cause I have been playing a little bit. Now the way that you remember these middle eastern rhythms is there is a dum and a tek. Dum is this tek is this. So a Baladi is dum, dum, tek, tek, dum, tek, tek, dum, dum, tek, tek, dum, tek, dum, tek. Now the nice thing about a Baladi is it is easy to learn play it over and over again, it is very simple and Baladi are often times then most fast. The fastest most expressive dances that the women will do. So a lot of times you will hear this fast."
