"Hi this is Shana Bethune and on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you about adjusting audio level in final cut pro. Now, there is a few ways that you can adjust audio levels but the 2 basic ways are adjusting the audio of a clip before you put in the time line and then adjusting it afterwards. If you like to adjust the audio level for a clip before you put it into your sequence make sure the clip is in the viewer and then click on one of the 2 audio tabs. You can adjust the level by moving the level slider to the left to make it quieter or the right to make it sounder. Now if you already put the clip into the time line and afterwards you decide that you want to change the level go to tool and audio mixer. Here a slider appears for each of your audio tracks. So let's say I want the first audio track to be lower than the second audio track. I move the slider down however much I like or if I want both of them to be the same amount I can enter a number down here. Now they are both at the same level. Having consistent audio levels is important so if there are parts of your audio that don't sound the same and are in different levels make sure you set them so they are the same. "
