"Hi, this is Sarah McLellan in New York City here at June Parody's Dance Studio. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to teach you today some basic and beginning tap moves. Come on in! I'm going to talk to you about the basic tap dance and where they are coming from in terms of your shoe and what part of your foot is making the sounds. As you can see, you have your toe tap and your heel tap. But you can also make sounds with kind of the sides, the heel of your shoe, with the top of your toe. You can flap, slap, brush, do all kinds of sounds. Even with the side of the shoe right here kind of making a sharp sound on the ground that also adds to everything that you are doing with tap dancing to make a little beat of different sounds. So the sounds that we are going to make I'm going to show you with the top of our tap, with the heel of your tap, with the toe of my tap, with the heel of the tap, with the toe of our tap, with the side, with the side, with the bottom of the heel, the toe again. All of these sounds come together to create what we know as tap dancing."
