"You start right on the bottom string third fret that's your G and you have open string, second fret, third fret open string, second fret, fourth fret, open string. So you really have to concentrate on these groupings right here, third fret and the second fret here and there and you have your open strings. (playing) You got this fourth fret over here and if we go through and number them and scale the roots we have our one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, one. Again; one, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. (playing) That is your basic scale pattern G major first position on the bass."
