"So now we've gone through and used just one scale to play through a whole entire piece, a whole tune. And you can hear how by just switching the different roots, we get all these different color tones out of that one scale. Now we're going to give you some improvisational ideas. Now if you have this tune down and you have your left hand down pat, this is a good time to go check out some of the C major scales. I went through and did all sixteen different scales you can get out of C major. And you can apply every one over the same tune and see how you can get different color tones in your improvisation using different scales as well. But for right now I'm just going to use a couple of different ideas as I play through this piece. So start with C major and I'm just going to play the black chords. I'm doing a little pentatonic. So still staying in the scale. And it's really the spacing again, if you just keep trying to play a bunch of notes, it doesn't really sound good. See, it doesn't really give it anything, it doesn't have any content to it. Doesn't really, it just mush. But if you give it some time, it's gorgeous. It's really the time and the rhythm you put the high in the notes that gives it that oomph. Those are some simple ideas. Again I just used that same C major scale and I used different timing in my right hand. And anybody can go through and get these four chords down and fool people. Tell them you've been playing for years doing some nice solos, utilizing the same C major scale."
