"First off we're going to take a look at our F major scale. And we're going to learn our first black chord, our F major black chord. So if you look at the piano, F major has one flat. B flat right. So F, G, A, B flat, C, D, E, F, and that's your F major scale. And we want to number it one through seven, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. And to make all our black chords, we're going to outline one, three, five, and seven, we'll have the chord. So if we go through the scale, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, one, three, five and seven. These are called thirds, because we each skip a note, right, we skip the second here, we skip two, four and six. And we outline. And even if you just start this and we go up, these are all different chords, there's G minor, A minor, B flat major, etcetera, etcetera. But we're just learning right now F major. And that's our first chord. So you'll want to write this down at home or just really get it under your fingers and memorize it. As we go through and utilize it playing through a couple of different real book tunes."
