"So now we're going to show you how to alter your A seven chords, and again, all we really do is we go to the exact pitch, right, we have one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, and thirteen. So we go to the pitch that is called four and we alter it. So if we have an A seven, sharp eleven, we go one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven. So I have this D right here. So I'm going to sharp that, and I get this new scale. So by adding in the sharp eleven, I get a new scale, and it has this... it has a very nice tone quality to it. So say we have A seven flat nine. Right, here's our nine, we just flat it. Here's A seven flat nine sharp eleven. That's a really out-there chord, right. Doesn't sound like a major scale or seventh scale at all. Again we use these as tools to get to this chord. So those are some altered chords for A seven."
